What the hell is up with these Dr. Pepper ads?

“It’s not for women”? Well, it’s certainly not for me. In fact, I like Dr. Pepper. Unfortunately, not only is this ad offensive or depreciating to women (not to mention ignorant, sexist, appropriating), it’s also a generalization of men, mens’ attitudes, gender identities, and soda choices… I’m livid, really. And after a quick google search, it would seem the only people who have had any kind of serious response or retaliation to these ads are a few reporters, and maybe some passive-aggressive women… which makes me even more upset. I’m going to write a verbally effective and serious letter to the Dr. Pepper company. I don’t care if this is a joke. It’s not funny. It’s blatantly offensive and disregardful and implicit that all progress we’ve made as a society (despite other regressions) is worthless. Here’s a link to the ad, if anyone who hasn’t seen it is interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iuG1OpnHP8
